This week we have been looking at the the body, the brain in particular and what functions each part of it does. The part we were most interested in was the 'Amygdala Gland', and yes I am copying it from Google as I don't know how to spell it, and how the function it is responsible for around the body.

Don't Sneeze

Catherine remained very still as some folks draw around her. We were trying to create a scene from CSI.

Looking at the different parts of the brain, we found that the Amygdala gland is responsible for the 'Fight, Flight or Freeze. response.

This is where you decide whether to attack, run or freeze in the presence of danger helping you make life saving saving decisions.

It can also cause us to sometimes worry and over think in times of stress building up to a state of Anxiety. And this is what we want to focus on for the future weeks ahead. How to potentially relax more, and look at ways of managing situations that all of us may find stressful from time to time.

Below are a few videos of the Fight or Flight Response. Look out for who runs, freezes or fights.
Each Member of the Group writing out there own anxieties and putting them up on the board.

We had a really interesting conversation and feedback discussing the various things that stress each one of us out.

We also learnt that every single one of us at some point in time stress's about something. And actually some of us share them too.
